More defections-what goes on here?  Says alot about the effectiveness of Ivan's management skills.  Too many meetings, too many reports, too many "projects", blackballing hardworking brokers...  Maybe that worked 25 years ago but not in todays cut throat marketplace.  In the close to 2 years Ivan has been on LI he has done so much damage to the business.  But as always keep hiring slugs and think you can still manage the business.  Shuffle accounts, screw the seasoned MAs and hand over their business to the lying suck ups.  Then have a meeting and stick you head in the sand.  Very effective.  BTW, Scott you looked horrible in drag, please do not do that again.  Maybe that worked in San Fran but not here on the east coast.

I see Ivan hasn't changed a bit. He has always been a cancer that must be cut out.  Never trust him, he would screw his own mother.

Rumor has it that “Not So Fat Mac,” the worst president in Sysco Connecticut’s history is on his way to a demotion and Long Island is planning to group together larger accounts and call them National Accounts.  One DM has already applied for the job as his head is also on the chopping block.  Tom’s replacement will be a nonevent BDM, who brought in very little business will move back into his old DM position being vacated by Tom.  Afterall Tom did a bang up job with the Green Cactus Grill.  How much did we write off from that business?  We also hear construction in Central Islip for the LI house is being pushed back 2-3 years.  I ran into a competitor that other day and he told me his company had an inside man at sysco Long Island.  So much for Ivan’s brainstorm about hiring the competition.  This guy reports back to his former boss about the inner workings of the company everything from new accounts to AR issues.  I suppose as long as you kiss Ivan’s butt it does not matter what you do.  Hell you will get a promotion, just look at the mgmt team Ivan has assembled.  All butt kissers with no substance.  I loved the cheer we did ending our Friday meeting.  That will help us bring in a lot of business.  Hip Hip Horray!

Can anyone bring me up to date on National Accts (personnel/business) in Rocky Hill?  Also, what about recent departures/firings.  Just trying to get current.

Hey Cat- GFY

Obviously there is an interest in my missives so here is the latest from the rumor mill. (Oddly enough what I am about to pass along is what I hear from the competition, WTF?!) The only DM with the knowledge, experience, temperament and ability has been demoted to working CMU accounts. Not massive accounts but Mom & Pop places with 2-3 locations. His replacement is not Wayne but Dino. None of this makes sense. Squeeze out the only good DM out of 4 on Long Island and replace him with another candidate that again does not fulfill the “corporate requirements” for the job. Now there are 4 ill-equipped and ill-mannered DMs reporting to Ivan “the destroyer.” On the I-man’s watch Long Island alone has lost more than 33 MAs, customers are dropping like flies because Ivan is too busy holding court and not strategizing on retaining and bringing in new business. The economy has not penetrated the bubble that he lives in. He did not see it coming and he has done nothing to help his staff and his customers. Why is he still around?? Another WTF is the person training the replacements does not know or understand sales and is not very knowledgeable when it comes to food. Word also has it a DM in CT. had a mental breakdown, very sad. Another rumor is Carucci has been stripped of his title, he is just another bus. resource employee. My question is- when are they going to get to the rest of the dead wood aside from Ivan like Fat Mac, Pat, Tim & Ron as their performance has been piss poor. Tom cannot handle his DM duties, neither can Drew; unfortunately Todd is having medical issues. What kind of leadership is this for a large company that touts a pension plan? Funny thing is the company has a tendency to fire people shortly before they are eligible to retire. But it is a good benefit to have, reads well on Wall Street even though your chances of cashing in are slim. We are all watching a train wreck!
