I work at Perkins and I can tell you that they are one step ahead of the game. They already set up a LLC called Famoso Gourmet LLC to protect Perkins if something or someone does file a lawsuit against them. The food program here is a disaster waiting to happen and they know it. We still do well with our paper and wash ware programs |

Reply with quote | #122 | hey tips, tell your customer that calling the health dept. is a good idea but he should also contact the FDA. The FDA will go over there and look at all the bad inventory. I heard they were selling all there out of codes to Building 19. 1 Montvale Ave # 4, Stoneham, MA - (781) 596-7700 109 Holton St, Winchester, MA - (781) 729-5700 3 Centennial Dr, Peabody, MA - (978) 531-5850 http://www.fda.gov

Foodpro, I will let the customers know about the FDA and that they should call them about the out of code foods they are selling. Im sure by next week the management at Perkins will have a few roll of dumpsters delivered to taunton to dispose the stuff. From what i have heard from one of the salesman from perkins is that they did sell alot of this product to Building 19 in the past but they lose to much when selling to them. |

Unfortunately, most customers will NOT complain to the FDA or Health Department. We have all been in the kitchens of these places and witnessed health code infractions. One can only imagine what goes on after hours or during peak. No...... I don't think they will draw any attention to themselves. They want the Skeletons to remain hidden. __________________ "Don't worry about temptation ....... as you grow older, it starts avoiding you" |

The problem is we are not moving those products on the flyer because we have lost all the customers that were buying it and for some reason we keep stocking more of it. We also have out of code holiday products from last year that we need to move out that we have already been told to help move. For as many things that we do right we do more wrong and it seems our owners are to stupid to to put an end to it. My accounts don't use this product nor do I offer it to them because I am aware of all the out of codes we have in stock. I have been frustrated for a few years and cant understand why we would subject our company to this type of risk. |

what they need to do is get rid of the fat dope in charge of purchasing. Scott Panton is one of the biggest losers in the business and the only thing this slob knows about food purchasing is purchasing the garbage he eats. He is the idiot that has brought all the out of code products into Perkins. It is amazing that they dont put his fat ass back in the warehouse loading trucks where he came from. |

Cirelli actually has no code problems that I am aware of. Perkins actually is just plain stupid. They actually order the poducts in code expecting their paper salesman to sell it. While Bob Crawford is picking his ear wax and eating it and Jack Boyajin is looking up the staffs skirts, Scott Panton is letting his underlings order all kinds of stupidity that doesnt sell and Larry and Gary are than in charge of disposing it. |

Update on the out of codes. It seems that they are disposing of the out of codes probably due to these postings. My account who was supplied the out of codes as informed me that his Perkins salesman apologized for shipping the product and informed him that they were disposing the product. I think we can be thankful that these posting probably prevented quite a few food poising cases in New England. |

Boy are they really scrambling at Perkins. They have been rejected on there bid for Papa Ginos and now there out dumping pasta on the street for $10.00 per case. Out of code of course. Also the show was a flop this year. I visited with one of my accounts as a guest and speaking to there employees I found alot of them aren't happy. Are they serious of trying to bid for such a large account? They are barely holding on to multi units they have now. |

"Also the show was a flop this year." ......... Do you still think that food shows are for the customers???? As I stated here before.... with margins continuing to shrink, we have to turn to Logistics income and the ever powerful Marketing money. These shows are legalized blackmail to the broker community. They are forced to pay big money to set up and waste a day at all the shows, all the while shelling out price breaks to existing customers who are already buying their product. I feel bad for the Brokers. __________________ "Don't worry about temptation ....... as you grow older, it starts avoiding you" |

Cheshire is right about the shows not being for the customers as seen in Perkins case. The show had no customers but had alot of vendors that were as Cheshire mentioned "blackmailed" to participate. Perkins is probably one of the leaders in the country on collecting money from vendors not only for the foodshow but for sheltered income. Its obvious that alot of the multi-unit business that they service are still not aware of all the sheltered income programs rebated back to Perkins even though the multi-units are on a cost plus program. I didnt attend the Perkins show since we do not service them (thank God) but from what i heard from other vendors is that alot of the customers that did show up do so just to visit Gillette Stadium in the hopes of meeting Tom Brady. |
