Tommy all I hear from you is. Who cares what low margin business they brought on. Does it affect you? NO! Shut up and do your job. BTW, the only business you brought was the accounts JK gave you. What have you done lately?
I KNOW YOU

IKNOW, why are you bagging on TOMMYGUNN? John King has been gone for two or three years! Maybe Tommy was given some business. What DSR hasn't over the years? It's up to the rep to keep and grow the business. Tommy has done that.

The low margin business affects us in the following ways:
These customers are given preferential delivery times
     ahead of regular customers.

We just laid off several knowledgeable purchasing people to
     pay the opportunists from Sysco.

We have brought in a ton of new items that will wind up on
the TBD list once these parasites move on.

SER, you forgot one other way it seems to be effecting you all....MORAL

Ideally, these guys would have come in, bringing some large accounts with them and ignited some competitive juices across the rest of the salesforce...Instead it sounds like they have sucked all of the swagger out of you all!

What is going on on the second and third floor? Are we making some changes? I never know who to call...job duties shift like the tide.

This is true, we have to suffer, as our street accounts that are more profitable get pushed to the wayside for this low margin stuff as far as deliveries and routing are concerned.

I am feeling it in my wallet now with upset customers.  I have not seen any layoffs though.  Is that what happened to the E&S Manager we used to have recently?

Don't know exactly what happened to Chuck Wade, but I'll bet part of it was the lack of support for nonfood sales. New TMs are focusing on COP and produce. Good for volume, but bad for GP$.

Having only two specialists for 170 TMs, and expecting any kind of meaningful sales, is laughable. Quotes from St. Paul are not getting done quickly.  And getting a specialist to go out and see a customer without the TM is almost impossible. It's like we're taking time out of their day to get them to do some work.

We used to have four E&S specialists covering the whole territory. They helped us write amazing business, and did it by themselves.

I hope Chuck went to a company that will appreciate his passion for E&S.

Why is the purchasing department so small? Sorry for the lack of USF knowledge, but I am new to the company.

Once everyone gets up to speed we may have halfway decent purchasing support. We will all suffer while they all learn about the new lines they have to deal with. The toughest learning curve will be the non-food purchasing people (Dian, Tony and Dan).

Hopefully, you will still be here after this whole thing shakes out.

Still don't see who they let go, everyone I met and saw daily while I was in training class for weeks on end is still around, except as mentioned Mr. Wade.

Must have been before I came onboard.

Ontheinside, all purchasing questions go to Teri WAlker and Kyla Ross in TM Support. They will get your answer and call you back.
